Jerry & Timmy's Excellent Adventures - First Voyage 12/04 - 4/05

There was much to learn on the storm-plagued maiden voyage of the good ship Gypsy. Yet we covered a lot of new ground & took a lot of pictures along the way.

12/26 - 12/27/04 Shakedown Cruise     Our maiden voyage starts out shaky in more ways than one. A new acquaintance - California's 100-year storm.

12/28/04 - 1/2/05 Learning the Ropes Under Duress     Our first stop is "off the grid", but it's hard to survive on solar energy when sol don't show.

1/3 - 1/8/05 By the Shores of Pinto Lake     We go for the grid; my first work week on the road. Getting acquainted with the underside of RV life.

1/9 - 1/14/05 Outlasting the Storm at Pismo Beach     A pleasant way station on route to the desert southwest. The storm finally subsides.

1/15 - 1/16/05 Skirting the Beast     Getting to the CA desert without paying dues in LA. Another oops.

1/17 - 1/19/05 Joshua Tree Cut Short     Our second attempt at boondocking comes up lame. Limping in to Arizona.

1/19 - 1/28/05 Getting Whole in the Sonoran Desert     A respite of sorts in the desert. Tele-commuting from Starbucks.

1/29 - 2/11/05 Overlooking Lake Pleasant     Getting acquainted with the desert & coming to terms with the sun.

2/12 - 2/18/05 On the Banks of the Colorado     A family get together. Cursing weather curses.

2/19 - 2/25/05 Point of Rocks in the Granite Dells     Waiting out the weather on the grid. Digging the Dells.

2/26 - 3/4/05 Crystal Hill in the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge     Pure boondocking. Looking for treasure & finding flowers.

3/5 - 3/11/05 Joshua Tree National Park, Take 2     The second time's the charm. A floral extravaganza, big Dells & star gazing.

3/12 - 3/15 The Long Way to Lone Pine     Two runs at Death Valley. Poppies, cathedrals & tranny troubles.

3/16 - 3/19 Stine Cove on Lake Isabella     Exploring the Kern River region, battling the wind.

3/20 - 3/25 Hanging out in the San Joaquin Valley     Ducking another round of weather. Moving north, exploring wetlands & fairgrounds.

3/26 - 4/15 High Spring in the Diablo Range    Good times with friends & family. Another oops!

4/16 - 4/22 Oroville - An Ironic Odyssey    Wandering the rural Sacramento Valley, gold rush recovery, an encounter with a leech.

4/22 - 4/29 In Shasta's Shadow    Last stopover on the way home: Lake Shastina.
